  * Key Volunteers needed to set up and run regulations field for Girls Generation event Oct 12/13

Many of you have heard mumblings about FRC possibly going to a district model type competition in 2014. All of this hinges around Gov Kitzhaber and the Oregon Legislature deciding to invest in STEM and put some large dollars towards the education budget that will allow FIRST to grow programs. If this happens, we need to become scalable overnight in FLL, FTC and FRC programs, which affects our regional capacity for teams. We are now looking for dedicated people to help us maintain that growth. FIRST contests use 100% volunteers just like you to make a memorable experience for every student.

We are looking for people who love FIRST, appreciate the students, and are willing to assume a key volunteer position for several years. We are bringing in a regulation field (just like the ones at the Memorial Coliseum) and are using Oct 12/13 as a key volunteer training opportunity. Visit our key volunteer page for in depth info on the coming plans and to sign up to be trained on the workings of a regulation field (from set up, scoring, referring, FTA's, etc) The link is at: http://www.oregonfirst.org/2012/09/volunteer-oportunities/<http://www.oregonfirst.org/2012/09/volunteer-oportunities/> (don't be alarmed when you go to sign up as it will take you to the FIRSTWA.org website - just indicate "OR" as your state)

Let me know if you have questions or comments.

Running as fast as I can,

Debra Mumm-Hill
FIRST Pacific NW Director
